'Beautifully executed… wild and punchy energy' - Anna Rachael McBride

 

Shaun is a contemporary dancer with a BA Hons in Dance Studies from the University of Roehampton. over the last 15 years he has worked in various roles with some of the UK's biggest Dance organisations. Collaborating with Matthew Bournes's New Adventures, Sadler's Wells, Hofesh Shechter Company, Dance East, Flexus Dance Collective, and Sterran Dance notably. 


Shaun has developed a bold an uncompromising style, focusing on exploring human instinct and experience. His work aims to connect with audiences through stark and brutally honest dance theatre, through a blend of raw, powerful, fluid movement, and emotional complexity.

 

Shaun has seen his work performed at some of the countries biggest venues and festivals around the UK including Sadler's Wells, The Place, Edinburgh Fringe festival, Battersea Arts Centre, Dance East, The Royal Festival Hall, Sadlers Wells East, The Arena Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, Trinity Laban and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

 

Shaun is a passionate advocate for dance in education, with extensive teaching experience across secondary, further education and undergraduate levels throughout the UK. His dedication to the field was recognized in 2018 when he won the inaugural One Dance UK 'Rising Star' award. Additionally, Shaun received the inaugural Rambert Grades Examination Award for his ongoing contributions to the Rambert Grades exam syllabus. In 2015, he created the impactful short work 'TIDAL' in collaboration with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Re:Bourne, performing at prestigious venues Trinity Laban, the London Aquatic Centre, and Sadler's Wells.
